* lisp/vc/ediff-util.el (ediff-buffer-type): New function.
(ediff-clone-buffer-for-current-diff-comparison): Compute the buf-type
rather than taking it as as argument.
(ediff-inferior-compare-regions): Adjust calls accordingly.
